There is a good news for those who are patiently waited for the HTC Desire, the HTC's flagship device is launched in the US today for $200 with a 2-year contract through US Cellular.

The carrier announced that the device will be available in stores on 27 august, the device comes with the Google Android 2.1 with HTC Sense UI which is graphically very good than his younger brother Nexus One.It features a big 3.7 inch WVGA AMOLED touch screen, 1GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor, 576 MB RAM, 512 MB ROM and a 5 mega pixel camera.The phone is a CDMA version and not available for the pre-paid plans from the carrier.HTC have to fight with the market leader iPhone to stand up in the US market.

The carrier told that they will introduce three more Android phones including Samsung's flagship device Galaxy S(i9000) and two LG handsets.

Nokia 5800 XpressMusic seems to have it all - large 3.2" touchscreen display, 3G and Wi-Fi support and even a GPS receiver aboard. The cute Nokia 5530 XpressMusic kept only the Wi-Fi, its display shrank to 2.9 inches and the battery capacity was decreased to 1000 mAh but the device costs considerably less than its smarter bro. When it comes to the recently announced Nokia 5230, the situation with the specs is only a tad different. It shares the same design and touchscreen with the 5800 XpressMusic and just like it comes with a built-in GPS receiver, 3G capabilities and a promising 1320 mAh Li-Ion battery. There is no support for Wi-Fi, though, and instead of the 3.15 autofocus snapper of 5800 XpressMusic you'll get a 2-megapixel fixed focus one. Well, at least it can take VGA videos at 30 fps.

Bloggers will come under the watchful eyes of the Federal Trade Commission for the first time, as the agency has finalized new rules governing bloggers and the products they write about. "Consumer-generated media" outlets (e.g., bloggers) will now have to disclose if they are being compensated by a manufacturer, advertiser, or service provider when they review an item. So if a blogger gets a laptop from a manufacturer to review and gets to keep it, he or she will have to make that fact public.

The new guidelines don't tell bloggers how they need to make the disclosure, but they do lay out the penalties: up to $11,000 per violation with the possibility of injunctions to boot. The FTC could also order that consumers be reimbursed in cases where a relationship between blogger and advertiser isn't disclosed and they suffer financial harm because of it.

The FTC began studying the issue in January 2007, and the debate since then has been hot and heavy. Some commenters during the rule-making processes said that there was no need for the government to get involved, arguing that industry self-regulation with occasional FTC enforcement under existing laws was sufficient. There were also fears that the commission would wield a broad regulatory axe in the forest of consumer-generated media.

If you're into gadgets and computer hardware and like to blog about your newest purchases, chances are good that you'll never draw the FTC's attention. Those who buy a product "with his or her own money and praise it on a personal blog or on an electronic message board will not be deemed to be providing an endorsement," read the rules. At the other end of the spectrum, anyone who is directly compensated to write about a product by an advertiser is covered by the new rules.

There are some reports circulating on the web that iRiver is developing a portable media player which will challenge the most awesome digital media player ever produced, the iPod touch. Named as K2, the gadget is expected to be launched in 2010.

According to a report on an Australian news website, K2 will run on the Android platform. The gadget will have a 3.5 inch touch screen, a built-in browser, wifi, bluetooth, accelerometer and a possible digital TV tuner. K2 is still in its initial phase therefore it is not yet clear that whether the touch screen would fully compat with the human touch or a stylus would be used. The memory capacity of the PMP has also not been revealed.

Though the Portable media player will surely not have the luxury of Apple's app store or the iTunes sync feature but still it would be a great challenge to Apple's iPod touch. Being an android based gadget, K2 will most probably have the access to the android based open source third party software.

The gadget is still a rumor and it is not yet confirmed whether it gets the approval by the company or not. If green-signaled the gadget would bring some sort of competition with Apple which would eventually result in further improvement in the newer version of Apple's iPod Touch.

The Austrailian site also reported that iRiver is also working on an ebook reader and an internet tablet.

Microsoft announced the availability schedule for Windows 7 RTM. In OS release cycle, RTM refers to 'Release to Manufacturing' and is the final version of a product just before the General Availability.

Microsoft Partners will be able to download Windows 7 from Microsoft Connect on August 6th and the OEMs will receive Windows 7 RTM software images beginning approximately two days after the official RTM, this will allow them to begin preparing images for new PCs to ship with Windows 7 on them.

For business customers, Windows 7 will be available on August 6th or September 1st depending upon the license and IT Professionals can get their hands on Windows 7 starting from August 6th through their TechNet subscription channel and so goes for the Developers too.

As for the Consumers, Windows 7 will be in retail stores and shipping on new PCs starting October 22nd. Good news for the Windows 7 community is that it has been confirmed by Microsoft that a Family Pack will be offered which would allow installation of Windows 7 on up to 3 PCs.

Rumors regarding the Nokia N97 mini emerged a while ago when a Vodafone forum moderator posted about the existence of such a device. Sadly! he was fired for leaking out such sensitive information, but that only led us to believe that Nokia did have such a device in the works.

And today! a leaked photo of the supposed Nokia N97 mini is what adds more to our speculation about the existence of such a device.

From what we see, it has a smaller touchscreen, a Qwerty keyboard but with a missing D-pad as seen on the original N97. Also the N97 mini is said to have only 8GB of storage memory, whereas the original N97 has 32GB of storage memory.

Though we personally believe that its nothing but an early prototype of the Nokia N97 which could have changed during the design-phase to give out the actual and final device.

Another possibility is that perhaps Nokia wants to repeat its trend by releasing a budget-phone as a supplementary to the original one, like it did with earlier with the Nokia E71. Though we doubt it, as N97 already failed to meet most of the users expectations.

We’re not sure if LG wanted this to happen so soon, but a promo video of the unannounced LG Chocolate BL40 has just appeared on YouTube.

Coming as the fourth phone from the Black Label Series, LG BL40 is an unusual handset, first of all because of its 4.0 inches touchscreen display that has a resolution of 800 x 345 pixels and a 21:9 aspect ratio. The display is covered with tempered glass, thus being scratch-proof (just like the screen of LG Secret).

As we can see in the video, the new phone also has a camera with Schneider-Kreuznach lens and flash – probably of at least 5MP.

We can also see a headset jack on the top, which might be a 3.5mm one.
