I’ve been checking with a major distributor frequently hoping to see the touchscreen Nokia phone that first appeared on Dark Knight; the Nokia 5800. Tonight it finally showed up on their system along with the suggested retail price. The Nokia 5800 for North America’s 3G network will be available to US retailers around Feb. 26th with the suggested price of $399 USD. It is up to the retailers how much they want to charge.
I’m thinking of getting one because I’m curious of the touch interface. I prefer buttons, but that wish won’t be granted until the Nokia N97 comes in the next few months.
The European version has been out and Nokia even announced they’ve sold at least a million units of the Nokia 5800 already. Do you think it will be successful here in the US? Will you be getting one?
