We covered a leak of the Nokia E75 last November, and here we are a couple of months forward with yet another telling image of the E75 smartphone, armed with additional details that we didn't have before. The Nokia E75 certainly takes a different route when it comes to its form factor, featuring a side-sliding QWERTY design that HTC and Sidekick users will find familiar. One major drawback that we forsee would be the 2.4" display - it is just too small for this day and age, even when used in landscape mode. Apart from that we know that the E75 will also be equipped with a 3.2 megapixel camera, HSDPA and Wi-Fi connectivity. Something tells us that Nokia will be unveiling the E75 at Mobile World Congress on an official basis - what do you think?

Bluetribe is a new pair of Bluetooth 2.1 headphones from Sigma-Apo of Japan, and it will sell with a couple of earpads to fit most ears. Won't be of much help if you're Goofy or Mickey Mouse though. How many of you out there think the form factor is way too retro to meet the criteria of a well-designed pair of headphones? We're not too sure whether the hexagon earpad is appealing or not, but let's just allow the sales figures to do the talking instead. Chances are this will be a Japan-only product, so no word on pricing at this moment.

We have been keeping an eye on the LG VX9600 ever since it was spotted on the FFC website, but the phone makes its first photo appearance (more phoros here), courtesy of howardforums' user "Shady_Soldier". As you can see, the phone can be a display-only or a QWERTY device, thanks to its modular approach. The keyboard can be detached and replaced by another module, like a game controller or speakers (more are on the way). Given that it was at the FXX in September, a spring/summer release might not be out of question.

Soccer (or football to the rest of the world outside of America) is the most popular sport in the world, and it goes without saying that a large percentage of football fans love foosball as well. One of the more common foosball tables on the market are under the Tornado brand, but 2eleven throws a spanner in the works by introducing a whole new level of luxury to their foosball table - it features built-in cup holders, monitors or advertisement displays on either sides, an automatic ball lift and a score display. Talk about being complete - now you no longer need to keep track of the score using wooden abacus-like rings which are open to cheating especially when you have had a wee bit too much to drink. We're not sure how much this will cost though, but it might induce a heart attack for some of our readers.

The X-mini II speaker does not let up where its predecessors left off, and while it might share many physical characteristics as that of the X-mini Max stereo, what makes this stand out from the rest is the ability to daisy chain with other X-mini IIs, making this one truly flexible audio setup. We would be interested to know just what the sound quality is like when you've got like, a century of these puppies all lined up. Apparently, reported tests that involved just seven of such speakers ended up being so deafening that we shudder at the thought of a hundred. The built-in 3.5mm audio cable is specially designed to tuck away into the base neatly. The X-mini II has been slapped with a recommended retail price of $29 when they ship globally this March.

Dmedia is visionary in its own way with a standalone GPS navigation system that not only helps you get to your intended destination, it also boasts WiMAX connectivity so that you will be able to remain connected at all times to the Internet. There is no word on whether the Dmedia G5W is a finished product or is it still in the prototype store, but some of the specifications shown include :-

* 5? touch sensitive widescreen display
* Bluetooth connectivity
* FM transmitter
* GPRS/EDGE modules

Now this would really catch on in cities with free WiMAX, but until that massive roll out happens, this remains a pipe dream. How much do you think a device like the Dmedia G5W will cost?

* 3.5G, WiFi G
* Windows Mobile 6.1 Pro

There's a rumor going on Photofan.jp about the Sony A800 DSLR. One of the member claims to have insider knowledge about this camera. Here are the alleged specifications:

* 15.2Mpx APS-C CMOS Exmor "R" sensor
* ISO 100-12.800
* 6.5 frame per second
* New high speed flash sync
* 9 double cross f/2.8 AF sensor (23 total AF sensor)
* New metering and AF sensor with tracking and previous focus
* Dual AF Ultr-Speed motor ??
* Wi-Fi built-in

Did I see WI-FI? Cool! None of the specs is out of this world and this seems plausible, but of course treat this as Entertainment rather than Information. The poster goes on saying that the Camera would be announced at PMA in April, along with 3 new lenses. Again it all seems plausible. (Above: not actual photo).

No, you won't be able to find this at South of Market in San Francisco, but the SOMA portable media player (PMP) is actually short for "somatic sensation" - which is pretty much a more flowery way of expressing the word "touch". You will be surprised to know that the entire design does not consist of just a touchscreen display, but introduces touch to the whole PMP as well. This 3.5" device comes with a fully customizable material, while a secondary analog LCD that shows off buttons are in actual fact, tactile buttons. We're not too sure what to think of something like this if it were to be released on the mass market, but the less-than-perfect rectangular shape will take some getting used to. Would be nice to see the embedded memory within augmented by a memory card slot of sorts.

* GPS navigation
* Bluetooth connectivity

The yet unannounced Nokia 5730 XpressMusic is a pretty strange handset, as it seems to be a love child between an E Series smartphone and your everyday happy-go-lucky XpressMusic handset. What makes the new 5730 XpressMusic more interesting is the inclusion of a full sliding QWERTY keyboard alongside the following :-

* 2" display at 240 x 320 resolution
* GSM/EDGE connectivity
* Symbian S60 operating system
* 3.2 megapixel camera with Carl Zeiss lens, autofocus and flash
* Bluetooth 2.0 with A2DP connectivity
* 140MB internal memory
* microSDHC memory card slot

Strange to see 3G support omitted, but then again you can't really expect too much at a €220 price tag, can you? This could possibly be the poor man's Xperia X1 or HTC Touch Pro. Word has it that the Nokia 5730 XpressMusic will be announced later this month, but it will only be released in Europe from April onwards.

It is cool to be green these days, and David Keith and his team think the Carbon Dioxide Scrubber could be the next big thing. This device is supposed to capturing CO2 straight from the air and purify it, making our air much cleaner. Also known as the eCO2, this personal scrubber unit aims to help an individual reduce or even erase his/her personal carbon footprint throughout the day. How does it do this? Fashioned after a futuristic looking wristwatch, it relies on kinetic energy to power it, pulling in air via intake vents to collect CO2 and expelling clean air through its exhaust vents. We wonder whether wearing five of these on each arm will help us offset more than our fair share of carbon footprint. As an added bonus, the eCO2 also doubles up as a timepiece, and we think it has plenty of potential when used with a Wii while you're busy trying to knock your opponent out in Wii Boxing.

So you've always wanted a 3D camera of your own, but can't bring yourself to part with a wad of cash for it? Fret not - Photojojo has a way out with a DIY 3D camera that won't cost you more than $15. All you need is a couple of disposable cameras and some duct tape, and you're good to go.
Step 1: Turn one of the cameras upside down to get the two lenses as close together as possible (lenses aren't usually located in the center of the camera). Line the cameras up so the lenses are on the same level.
Step 2: Tape the cameras together with duct tape. Don't cover up the shutter buttons or winding mechanisms.
Step 3: Go out and shoot! To take a picture, press both shutter buttons at the same time.
Step 4: Just have fun and accept that this method won't give you pro results.
Bear in mind that the 3D effect won't be perfect as the lenses are approximately 4" apart, which is farther compared to human eyes that tend to stay 2.5" to 3" apart. Also remember that these cameras won't focus on anything closer than three feet so that you won't waste any shots.

Lancerlink of Japan has introduced its MPJ-101 mini projector that also functions pretty decently as a portable media player. Basically, this LCOS projector is a clone of the 3M mini projector, touting dimensions of 125mm x 55mm x 23mm while tipping the scales at 100 grams sans battery. The $1,000 price tag is rather prohibitive though, considering all that you get are :-

* 640 × 480 resolution
* 10 lumens brightness
* 1GB internal flash memory
* SD/SDHC/MMC/MS Pro memory card slot
* USB connectivity
* Two 0.5W speakers

Supported file formats (after inserting the memory card of your choice, of course) include MPEG-4 (AVI/ASF/MP4), H.264 (MP4)?MotionJPEG (AVI), MP3 and JPEG. MP4/ASF/AVI. Each purchase will come bundled with the ArcSoft Media Converter, so you can start toting around your favorite shows and movies on a memory card, viewing it whenever convenient. We wonder what the battery life is like for this though.

Mobile gaming is getting bigger and better on a daily basis. Dedicated gaming handsets are being designed just to provide for that demand. So far, one of the better gaming handsets available on the market, or at least the one that games look best on according to us is the iPhone. The problem has always been control though as the handset’s lack of buttons sometimes poses a problem.
iPhone games will be glad to hear that a site called iControlPad.com has developed a console like controller casing for the handset that should allow for a true gaming style feel on the phone. The casing is simple and very neatly designed to slip right over the device. It features -

* A D-pad for navigation
* Action Keys (ABXY)
* A start button
* Power LED
* Select key

The controller add-on has been in development for sometime now and has finally reached a stage where the developers believe it’s ready for mass production. In order to use the device though, your device will need to be jailbroken. There’s no confirmation yet, but it’s likely that the company would also develop an iControlPad for the iTouch.

The availability of the device or pricing has not been disclosed. All we can say is, it's going to take mobile gaming to a whole new level.

Check out the developers demo video here.

Could this be the first genuine contender to the Apple iPhone's touchscreen crown?

The ink's not dry on your Nokia N96 contract yet, but the Finnish favourite has thrown another hellacious handset into the mix. Its first ever touchscreen offering!

As expected, Nokia has officially announced the 5800 Express Music phone we've come to know as the Tube.

Hot details include a 3.2" full touchscreen it's calling "the best mobile screen of all time."

Interestingly there's four differing input methods to suit all the horses and all the courses. A full-screen qwerty keyboard, handwriting recognition, a traditional phone keypad on the screen and a plectrum (it is a music phone, after all).

There's a 3.2-megapixel dual flash camera with a Carl Zeiss lens, and 8GB of storage for your music that Nokia hopes you'll be picking up from the new Comes With Music service. They've also packed in some pretty powerful speakers too and we'll have more on that once we've had a hands-on.

One of the key innovations allows you to store your four favourite contacts, complete with photos, on the home screen storing your entire history with that person. Messages, emails and calls exchanged as well as Facebook status updates through the RSS feed. Neato.

Speaking of the internet, the 5800 is fully compatible with Flash meaning you'll be able to browse "the whole internet". A not-so-sly dig at its biggest rival, the iPhone.

Perhaps the biggest positive is the price. You'll be able to grab this phone now for just 279 Euros on pay-as-you-go. About half the price of the iPhone.
